Yes, I am on Facebook! I am slowly catching up with the times and trying to keep up with this all so popular social networking. Come on over and become a fan to be sure that you never miss anything! (sometimes I only get around to posting on either my blog or facebook, not always both) Click on the link below and then click on become a fan! It's that easy :)... (someone should have told me a long time ago how easy it was, LOL)

And what the heck, since we are having such a great time socializing :) you might be interested in following my tweets:

Newsletters

Some of you have brought to my attention that you are not receiving newsletters even though you have signed up for them. One thing to note is that my newsletters go out approximately every 3 months, unless there is a current special going on and then a short e-blast will be sent out.

The second thing to note is that after you sign up you will receive a confirmation email, and you must click on the link in this email to complete your sign up. This applies only to those signing up here. For those of you that request to be signed up at your session (or by other means) your names are added directly to the list.

*If you aren't sure if your name is on the list just drop me a quick line at shelly@shellyfergusonphotography.com and I will double check for you.

**If you haven't signed up yet, what are you waiting for...newsletter subscribers are often the first to find out about latest news and of course any special promotions going on!

11 days old... {Durham Region Newborn Photographer}

This little guy was so adorable, and just like most newborns I meet these days, he did make us work a little to get him sleepy :), but it was well worth the wait once he settled in for a comfy nap! There is just something about a peaceful sleeping baby...doesn't he just melt your heart?

*As a side note: We are quickly approaching the end of October and there are only a couple of session times left to get your Holiday Cards in time for, well, the holidays. If you were thinking about booking your Holiday Card Mini Session, please contact me asap so I can book you in.

Cutie-pie brothers

Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting these two wonderful kids. Little "I" was as cute as a button and big brother "J" was a hoot to chat with. Such a smart little boy for 5 years old (uh, sorry I mean 5 and a quarter years old!) Of course the promise of being able to choose something from the treasure bucket at the end is always great incentive for the older kids to participate, and I have to say that a few cheerios goes a long way with the little ones!

Another session...

...and this time the weather didn't cooperate! This was to be an outdoor portrait party, but it was so rainy and windy that we had no choice but to take the fun inside. Of course I think the kids still got a kick out of wearing hats and scarves indoors :)

Better late than never :) {Durham Region Children's Photographer}

I do try hard to give everyone a sneak peek of a couple of photos from their session within a day or two, but between session appointments, post editing and getting everyone's galleries up on time (not to mention all the administrative work and raising a family and a dog at the same time ;) ), sometimes the blog has to take a back seat. Here are a few images from a recent session that I had hoped to put up earlier. We were so unsure if the weather was going to hold out for us, but the rain stayed away until I packed up all my gear and headed for home!

Just because... {Durham Region Children's Photographer}

Sometimes images just grab my attention like the two below. I had already posted a sneak peek from this session (the antique scale session), but as I was editing the rest of the photos these images just jumped out at me, so I thought I would share them :) Parents are often so concerned about getting their kids to sit and smile, but in my opinion it's just as important to capture all sides of your child's personality. As for the mom and babe, just look at how blissfully beautiful mom is...

Holiday card samples

I recently announced that Holiday Mini Sessions (see the original post here) were available for those of you that are interested in getting cards for the holiday season. I did promise some samples: here are just a few examples of some the cards available. Each 5x7 flat card can be customized with your own personal message and photo(s) on the front and/or back.

For those of you that would like to book this mini session don't delay! By the evidence of Christmas decorations lining the store shelves the Holiday Season is right around the corner!!! October session times are filling up quickly and these mini sessions need to held by November 15 at the absolute latest to ensure getting your cards in time to send out for Christmas.
