Have I mentioned how much I love seeing my wee little clients grow? I've been photographing this little guy since he was in his mommy's tummy :)

I am now officially caught up on August's photo sessions...on to September's! So many wonderful sessions from September that I can't wait to edit! Thank you again to all my wonderful clients and their patience in waiting for their photos!! I have found over the last few years of being in this business that there are slow times and busy times... With the exception of a couple of slower months in the spring, this year has been incredibly busy and there are no signs of slowing down for the rest of the year either. I cannot even tell you how much I appreciate all the new and returning clients that have been booking sessions with me...trusting me to capture lasting memories of your little ones is an incredible feeling!! The fact that I have been getting so many return clients and referrals must mean that I am doing something right :) I feel so incredibly blessed and honoured that I am able to do this 'job' on a daily basis!

{Holiday Card Mini Sessions!}

Back by popular demand :) I have decided to host one day of Holiday Card mini sessions this year. I have had a few clients ask if I was going to offer these again and in all honesty I really didn't know if I would be able to fit it in in a timely manner. In case some of you haven't noticed, we are already half way through September!!! I am still trying to figure out where June, July and August went...however, the reality is that clients have been reminding me that winter is right around the corner with people booking into February at this point! Gotta love organized folks that are thinking ahead though...those that have pre-booked their winter newborn sessions dates can rest easy knowing that they will be guaranteed a session spot :)

So....without further ado, Holiday Card Mini's will be held in studio only on October 1st, 2011. There are limited sessions, and first booking options are being offered to current and previous clients until Wednesday September 21, 2011. Any remaining sessions slots will be opened up to anyone wishing to book on Thursday September 22, 2012. If you are a new client and wish to be put on a waiting list, just send me a quick email...first come, first served. All sessions must be reserved with a 30% deposit. For clients that can't make it or that have just recently had a session please scroll down for a special option just for you :)

If I only had one word of advice about photographing newborns it would be this: patience. With a little patience from everyone involved even the fussiest of babies eventually give in :) She may have made me work a little harder for her session but it was worth every minute of it because I absolutely adore the images we were able to get from Eva's session. And thank you to Mom and Dad for their patience in waiting for their images!

{sigh}.... I had such a hard time deciding which images to share from this session...this is not a sneak peek anymore because their gallery has already been loaded but I couldn't not share some images from Cooper's session...I am absolutely in love with so many of them!! Amazing family to work with, thank you so much for choosing me to photograph your little boy!

Here is another little guy I have been photographing since he was a newborn! He still has one more session to go in his Watch me Grow series (which is now a retired package...newborn clients please inquire to find out what has replaced it!). I loved that we were able to get outside for this session because 'Z' has the most AMAZING eyes that just lend so well to natural light photography....mmmmm...I could just eat him up he is so cute! (and I didn't have to run as hard for this one since he wasn't walking yet!)

Been photographing this little guy for over a year now! Let me tell you that chasing him around this session was a work out and a half! Once kids learn how to walk that's it...we were lucky if got him to sit still for more than 0.3 seconds. It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know the 'J' family over the course of 'A's Watch me Grow series of sessions...look forward to meeting you again someday in the future :)

Remember this little guy from a few posts back? Thought I would share a few more from his session so Mom and Dad don't think I have fallen off the planet! It has been so incredibly busy this summer with sessions, but I think I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel...hope to be caught up before the next wave of appointments start. September is just about full...if you are looking for a newborn session don't forget to book while you are still pregnant to ensure you get a spot! Newborn sessions should be held within the first 10 days and although I always try to fit in newborns I cannot guarantee availability if you call after your baby is born.

Loved meeting this family! These kids kept me on my toes the whole morning I spent with them. Everything about this morning was absolutely gorg-e-ous: the weather, the home, the mom, the kids and even the dog...I just couldn't leave without getting a picture of Barney the dog :)

By the way, this has nothing to do with this session, but for those of you that don't know...Shelly Ferguson Photography can be found on Facebook! I cannot believe that it's September already! Where did the summer go?! As of September 1, 2011 there are a few minor changes to the pricing menu. One of the things that I am so excited to introduce is a special discount for returning newborn clients during their baby's first year! I have retired the Watch me Grow package and replaced it with the following:

First year for returning clients: 50% off session fee

This is a special option for those clients that wish to capture more memories during their baby’s first year. Book up to 2 sessions in your baby’s first year and receive 50% off both session fees.

*standard session only, not applicable on mini sessions
*must have held a newborn session to qualify.
*final session must be held by the time your child is 15 months.
*suggested ages for subsequent sessions: 6-8 months and 12-15 months
*can include a Cake Smash for the final session, subject to additional cake fee if you need a cake supplied.

Sometimes I love the outtakes or the in between shots just as much! Although not technically perfect (grainy and blurry) this set of photos just crack me up!
